CBDC Report: Bank of France’s attempt to create a new CBDC

The Central Bank of France was experimenting in creating CBDCs (Central Bank Digital Currency) and has successfully done it. This is in collaboration with a bunch of other establishments, such as SEBA, Banque International à Luxembourg, Luxembourg’s Central Securities department, etc., and the aim is to create a securities delivery system. These are targeted for TARGET2- Securities (T25), a Europe-based settlement engine.

The program will help both conventional and decentralized finances to interact, and combine facilities to offer a better customer experience. The next part is to check the viability of the CBDC. This program is a part of a massive one that is aimed to test the integrability of CBDC’s in the modern financial system.
