Formula 1 has filed eight trademark applications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for cryptocurrencies, NFTs, and metaverse products and services. According to Mike Kondoudis, trademark attorney, these trademarks covered “cryptocurrency+NFTs”, “NFT+crypto markets”, “retail stores for virtual products”, “Blockchain financial transactions”, and “cryptocurrency trading and mining”.

The trademark numbers are:

  1. 97620686
  2. 97620287
  3. 97620289
  4. 97620291
  5. 97620281
  6. 97620279
  7. 97620298
  8. 97620268

The applications were filed on October 5, by Formula One Licensing B.V., the Dutch subsidiary of the Formula One Group (which owns Formula One and the F1 logo).

In February, SFM (South Florida Motor), a Formula 1 associate group, announced that Crypto.com will be the official sponsor for Miami Grand Prix. However, in the current scenario of crypto winter, Crypto.com may reduce its investments which might interfere with its ambitions.

It should be noted that Crypto.com was the official partner of Formula One’s Sprint Series in 2021.
